UPI QR Decoder: Who a Payment Really Goes To
Paste the text of a upi:// link or a UPI QR code and the decoder reads out who would be paid, how much and what the note says, then lists anything odd. It opens on an invented link. It cannot see who owns a UPI ID, and it runs in your browser.
The decoder above is set to an invented link: a payment of ₹99 to “Customer Care Team”, at the UPI ID 9123456780@ybl. No such payee is real. If you came here before paying a deposit, this is what we know about Shree Win. At the time of writing (8 October 2026), its Wallet screen, opened by address without a login, listed Deposit, Withdraw, Deposit history and Withdrawal history. We opened no deposit screen, so we cannot say which methods it offers or whether it shows a QR code. The decoder works on any link or code that reaches you, wherever it came from.
Words on this screen
| Word | In plain words |
|---|---|
| UPI ID | The address money goes to, such as a name or a mobile number followed by @ and an ending |
| Ending | The letters after the @, standing for a bank or a payment app |
| Payee name | Text typed into the link by whoever made it. Nobody checks it |
| Amount | A fixed sum in rupees. Many apps will not let you change it |
| Note | A line of text that travels with the payment |
| Collect request | A request that makes your account pay, rather than a payment you start |
| Level | Low, Medium or High: a reading of the link’s text, never of the person behind it |
What the opening link says
- Who is paid: 9123456780@ybl, under the name “Customer Care Team”.
- How much: ₹99, fixed in the link.
- Level: Medium. One thing is worth a second look: a company-style name on a mobile-number UPI ID.
- What still holds: nothing leaves your account until you approve it in your UPI app, usually with your UPI PIN.
The name is the weak point. “Customer Care Team” is words typed into a link. The name your UPI app shows on its confirm screen comes from the bank’s side, so believe that one. If the two differ, stop.
One link, six small changes
We changed one thing at a time in the opening link and ran the decoder after each change.
| What we changed | Level | Points | What the decoder adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nothing: the opening link | Medium | 35 | A company-style name on a mobile-number ID |
| Name changed to “Ravi Verma” | Low | 0 | Nothing: a person’s name on a mobile number looks ordinary |
| Note “Refund of deposit” added | High | 65 | Words about money coming in, on a link that takes money out |
| Link begins upi://collect | High | 90 | A request that takes money from you |
| Note “Call 9876501234” added | High | 55 | A phone number inside the note |
| A shortened web address attached | High | 65 | A web address tied to the payment |
| Amount taken out | Medium | 35 | Only a note that you type the amount yourself |
Read the second row twice. The link looks tidy, so it reads Low, yet the decoder cannot know whether Ravi Verma is who you meant to pay. If a deposit page ever shows a private person’s name where you expected a business, pause and ask the platform’s support. The decoder will not raise it for you.
The third and fourth rows are the shape of a trick. A “refund” that arrives as a payment link has the direction backwards.
Before you approve a payment
- Copy the link, or the text of the code if your scanner shows it before acting, and paste it above.
- Read the sentence at the top of the result and the table of parts.
- Open your UPI app’s confirm screen. Compare the name there with the one in the table, and the amount with the one you chose.
- Approve only a payment you started. Keep the reference number from your bank or UPI app, and look at Deposit history on your own screen afterwards. The help guide lists what to do if a deposit does not show.
What a Low result leaves open
The decoder reads the text and nothing else. It cannot see who owns a UPI ID, and a shop’s QR sticker can be covered by another one. Low means nothing odd showed up, never “go ahead”.
The page’s Important Security Notice, dated 2026-08-31, says customer service will never send members links. That is the page’s claim and we cannot test it, but a payment link that lands in a chat is a good reason to read it first. If a message is pressing you to pay, paste it into the scam message checker. For a web address, use the link checker.
If you have already paid, call your bank straight away to block the UPI ID, then call 1930, the national cyber-fraud helpline, and report it at cybercrime.gov.in. The after-a-scam guide lists what to keep. More checks are on the tools page.
Want to see the page before you pay anything? The button opens the platform’s page in a new tab. Read the address bar first.

Common questions
Can I scan a QR picture with this page?
No. The decoder reads text, not pictures. If your scanner shows the text a code holds, copy it here. A code whose text starts 000201 is a different kind of payload, and the decoder says so instead of guessing. Open that one in your UPI app and compare the name it shows with who you meant to pay.
Does the decoder send the link I paste to anyone?
No. The reading happens in your browser, and the decoder never contacts the payee or anyone else. It only splits the link into its parts and compares them with a short list of habits. Even so, leave out anything you would not show a stranger.
Why does a mobile number under a company name read Medium?
Because banks and big companies usually do not collect payments on a personal number, so a name like “Customer Care Team” on 9123456780@ybl is worth a second look. It adds 35 points, and 20 points is where Medium starts. The decoder cannot say who holds the number, only that the two parts do not fit.
What does it mean when a link starts with upi://collect?
It is a request that makes your account pay, not a payment you start. The decoder gives it 55 points on its own and calls it a request that takes money from you. Whoever sent it, approving one you did not ask for sends money out. Decline it.
The Wallet screen has a Deposit button. Which UPI ID does Shree Win use?
We do not know. At the time of writing (8 October 2026) we opened the Wallet screen but no deposit screen, so we cannot say which methods it offers, whether it shows a QR code, or what name the payee carries. Read the confirm screen in your own UPI app each time.
Someone says I must scan a code to receive my withdrawal. Should I?
No. Receiving money never needs a scan, a link or a UPI PIN, and the decoder says so with every result. A code that asks you to pay is a payment, whatever the message calls it. Stop replying, keep a screenshot, and ask the platform’s support from inside its own page.
